After much reminiscing over my trip to Ireland in 2008 I had searched for this installation piece I created which were buried away in my photos. Over the years I forgot more and more about it until I listed to Bookends by Red Bellows and their story “Mind the old deskchair, it’s broken and beaten tossed in the road watch the vines slowly, watch how they slowly take hold.” I had to find those pictures. Looking back on it now 2 years later I have grown fond of it, and the thought of our natural ability to consider the inevitability of God’s mother nature. Now matter what happens earth takes over in the end.

Band Practice
Last night was a lot of fun with Red Bellows at their band practice. I couldn’t thank them enough for their beautiful performance and becoming a part of their collaborated ideas in music making. Obviously my input was very minimal since my musical sagacity isn’t the best, but I got to feel how they work together and in the environment they work in. Squeezed in a small corner two drums sets were placed in a corner, amps cords laid everywhere, a key board and synthesizers set facing the corner all wrapped in with old stone walls and patterned drapery. I have to say it was very cozy sitting next to the guitarist as a cool green lamp shine above where I sat.
As I watched practice ( for the first time) my senses of how Red Bellows worked together really gave me this certain vision, if you will, of this bohemian rock band. While playing they organized the structure of a song and creatively fiddling around with verses, themes, hits, what have you. It looked like they were writing poetry. How they manage to work together felt as though they already read each others mind and knew what worked or what could work. What I’m getting at is how their interactions collided with one another that was quite interesting to see and helped me exam how exactly I would fit my work into this type of music. I think I got it and a sense of direction. Excitingly enough, we are reconstructing the idea of what he previously had since we have the time now to really meld together ideas as they still look for their bassist. Hope they Find him soon because things are looking good at this point :) Just a brief Red Bellows/ art update of whats been in the works. Its all very exciting!!
RED BELLOWS new work
Working with Red Bellows has been such a thrill and the music they have produced have grown immensely that I get more and more excited to be part of that family. Unfortunately the leave of their bass player has put us at a halt in actually making products but hasn’t stopped us from creating awesome imagery and sounds. Now Red Bellows have been in search of a new bass player that could feed off each other with inspiration and uniqueness and truthfully to be part of a fun and an amazing family.
In the next few weeks as we are in search for the 4th member the new images that will represent Red Bellows as a whole will change differently from the previous designs that Marc and I have talked about. It’s been such a pleasure working with the lead singer Marc Pellegrino, our heads are on the same page as we both leave room for our creative heads perpetually expand. I can’t wait to see what is in store for us this summer, its going to be pretty Raaad.
The RedBellows myspace poster is not yet completed! But for the most part it is :D !! This is just one of the many steps that needed to be made. For the most part this will be the underlining theme for now until more to come. I was glad I took the time to sketch and paint this poster out at this scale. I don’t think I have done a poster this size so thanks RedBellows ;p There’s a lot more to come and very excited to see how this layout will look! More updates soon when things get done! ¡Adios muchachos!
We all love a sneak peak. ;) So much more to do to it! Many Hours left. RedBellows
